Carbon Trolley Bus Inserts
The small, current-collecting inserts at the top of trolley bus pole must be:
- Conductive according to the electrical needs of the system
- Self-lubricating to maximise service life of insert and overhead wire
- Durable to resist mechanical shock at wire cross-overs
Metal-impregnated and open-pore materials are specified according to operational and climate considerations.
Special design features can dramatically improve the clearing of overnight ice formation for the first run of the day, leaving the line ice-free for subsequent trolley buses and leading to lower insert consumption.
